The Smart Intersections Project
Through the Advanced Transportation and Congestion Management Technologies Deployment, the University of Michigan was recently granted $9.95 million in research funding, $3.8 million of which goes directly to the University. The Smart Intersections Project is a living laboratory that is being led by CCAT Director and Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Michigan, Dr. Henry Liu. 21 intersections throughout the Ann Arbor area will be equipped with cameras, radar, and sensors to allow communication with connected vehicles that are part of the Ann Arbor Connected Environment.
