James Eric Dietz

Biography

Professor of Computer and Information Technology – Purdue University
Director – Purdue Homeland Security Institute

Dr. Dietz is the Director of the Purdue Homeland Security Institute and Professor in the Computer and Information Technology Department at Purdue. On loan from Purdue to the State from 2005-2008, Eric was the founding Executive Director for the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, then a new cabinet-level department. Before joining Purdue, Eric served for 22 years in the US Army as an acquisition officer where he developed new information technology with many existing and startup companies. He is a co-author of the book Pandemic Planning, published by the CRC press.
