Bin Ran
Biography
Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Director of the ITS Program – University of Wisconsin–Madison
Dr. Ran is an expert in ITS and Collaborative Automated Driving System (CADS). He has more than 160 patents or patents pending in the US, China, Japan, Europe, and other countries. Dr. Ran serves as the Chair of the Committee on Connected and Autonomous Mobility of the International Road Federation (IRF), and leads a Task Force of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) to develop system architecture and development roadmaps for vehicle-highway automation in the US. He is also the Chair of the Faculty Committee for the World Transport Convention (WTC). He also serves as the Secretary of the Vehicle-Road Coordination Innovation Consortium (VRCIC).
