Srinivas Peeta

Biography

Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering – The University of Michigan

Dr. Peeta (Ph.D., Civil Engineering, University of Texas at Austin) was a professor at Purdue University, Director of the NEXTRANS Center, and Associate Director of the USDOT Center for Connected and Automated Transportation until 2018. He has served in a number of national roles including leadership of committees of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) of the National Academies (Travel Analysis Methods Section, Route Choice and Spatio-Temporal Behavior, Traveler Behavior and Values) and board membership of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) Technical Committee on Transportation Systems. Dr. Peeta’s research has focused on the application of control theory, fundamental techniques in operations research and advanced computational methods to large-scale transportation networks. He serves on the Editorial Advisory Boards of several technical journals including Transportation Research Part B, Intelligent Transportation Systems Journal, and Transportmetrica B: Transport Dynamics. Dr. Peeta’s awards include ASCE Walter Huber Research Prize (2009).
