James Sayer
Biography
Director and Research Scientist – The University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI)
Dr. Jim Sayer has conducted basic and translational research in the areas of connected vehicle technology, advanced vehicle safety systems, driving behavior, and driver distraction at UMTRI since 1993. Dr. Sayer recently served as the Principle Investigator for the U.S. DOT’s Connected Vehicle Safety Pilot Model Deployment program and Ann Arbor Connected Vehicle Test Environment. He serves as an Adjunct Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, is Chair of the University’s Institutional Autonomous System Committee, and has overseen the development of a university-wide mobility initiative.
