Project Abstract:
The proposed research will use two different levels of driving simulation to address safe and efficient operations of AVs. In the first part, experiments will be carried out to study vehicle dynamics at high speed and will be done using (a) a Level 5 AV simulator, (b) a real-life L5 autonomous car on a real test track. In part 2, a follow-up from past research, will use Level 3-4 simulation (in a cab-driving environment) to analyze aspects of human take-over from AV at high speed.
