Biography

Professor of Civil Engineering – Purdue University

Associate Director – Center for Connected and Automated Transportation (CCAT)

Dr. Labi serves as associate editor or editorial board member for Computer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering Journal, ASCE Journals of Infrastructure Systems and Risk and Uncertainty, and Elsevier’s Safety Science. He is also a guest editor of a Frontiers journal special issue focusing on electric, connected, and automated vehicles; and an ASCE JIS special collections focusing on smart cities. He is the chair of ASCE’s committee on economics and finance and secretary of TRB’s committee on asset management. His research, which is motivated by the emerging transportation landscape, includes data analytics for smart monitoring and maintenance of infrastructure, and automation and connectedness of infrastructure system components and functions.
