Project Abstract:
We propose to organize 2021 International Symposium on Transportation Data and Modelling (ISTDM) in Ann Arbor on June 21‐23, 2021. The theme of the conference is achieving connected, cooperative and automated mobility. Given that the theme perfectly matches the mission of CCAT, we seek for CCAT’s sponsorship and support. This conference aims to gather transportation researchers and practitioners across the globe for exploring the frontiers of big data, modelling and simulation to advance transportation research. It will be a perfect venue for CCAT researchers to disseminate their results and conduct outreach activities. It will help showcase CCAT’s achievements and strengthen its reputation particularly in the international transportation research community. The conference provides much discounted registration fee to students and is thus expected to attract many student attendees around the world. It will help recruit new entrants into the transportation field and improve the skills of the existing workforce to effectively address today’s transportation system challenges. It can thus be considered as one of CCAT activities for education and workforce development.
