Project Abstract:
The proposed project will merge a recently developed V2I passive pavement sensing system for secondary lane departure warning with an existing CAV platform to perform a series of autonomous maneuvers (including lane-keeping, lane-changing, object avoidance, etc.) in all road and weather conditions and provide localized motion planning to maximize passenger comfort. Mobility, comfort, and safety of passengers will be significantly improved, and a reduction in fuel consumption of vehicles is expected.
