Biography
Associate Research Scientist – The University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute
Dr. David J. LeBlanc has been at UMTRI since 1999. Dr. LeBlanc’s work focuses on the automatic and human control of motor vehicles, particularly the design and evaluation of connected and automated vehicle systems. He has led dozens of research projects, including ones sponsored by NHTSA, GM, CAMP, Toyota, and Honda. He is the author or co-author of several publications in the area of connected vehicle systems, driver assistance systems, driver behavior modeling and analysis, vehicle dynamics, and more. Dr. LeBlanc holds a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan, and a master’s and bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University.
